I had totally forgotten about these guys till I was reading a post at Blueprint Magazine’s blog, Bluelines. American Apparel has tons of really cute basics that can be worn in a ton of different ways. The other great thing about their stuff is they come in a ton of different colors. Here’s a list of some of my personal favorites.
I really like this Tricot Figure Skater Dress. I know nylon’s got a bad rep but love the shininess of this dress. It would look great as a dress with cute wedges or with a pair of skinny jeans. It’s $48 and currently comes in 6 colors. Here it is in my favorite colors, charcoal (which looks like dark blue) and grape.

Next up is the Baby Rib Cross-Back Summer Dress. I really love this dress. It looks so comfy and refreshing in white. Cute for a sunny Saturday afternoon or running errands. It’s $39 and comes in 3 other colors.

Versatility is big for me when I buy clothing. I want something that I can wear over and over again in different ways. The Jersey Bandeau Dress is great for this. You can tie it into a ton of different styles. Watch the video on their site. It’s $36 and comes in 15 colors. You’re bound to find one that’s right for you. It also comes in a more form hugging style.
