NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 07: Early Trend Report - The Primaries
Friday, February 16th, 2007Colors that is.
Bygone are the days when bright colors in the fall were not allowed. The bright and primary colors are marching their way into the fall. This is great because you can integrate this spring’s trends into your fall/winter wardrobe. Wear your cobalt blue dress over some black tights and finish it off with a great pair of knee high flat boots. Try topping off your mustard yellow tank with a wool caplet. There’s tons of combinations. Take a look at the pictures below for more inspiration.

NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 07: Early Trend Report - Geometry 101
Wednesday, February 14th, 2007Welcome to Geometry 101, not to be mistaken for your middle school geometry class. Strong geometrical and graphic prints appeared in a large majority of New York’s runway shows last week. These prints expressed themselves in large circles to tiny rectangles. Spice up your wardrobe with a print this fall. Now look at the pretty pictures.
NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 07: Early Trend Report - Day Clutches
Tuesday, February 13th, 2007The clutch, which has been a wardrobe staple for a few seasons, just got a little bigger. Day clutches AKA envelope clutches are great because they can easily be carried around for a day at the office, and go straight to a night on the town. The clutches of Fall 07 aren’t your mom’s handbag from the 80’s. The updated version will come in a great selection of textures, detailing, and embellishments.
Look for the following elements:
- Animal Skin/Fur (Snakeskin is a safe bet)
- Bright Colors (Red, yellow, blue, etc)
- Metallic materials
- Bold Hardware
- Crystal Embellishments
- Patent

NY Fashion Week Fall/Winter 07: Early Trend Report - Fur
Monday, February 12th, 2007PETA’s going to be very busy throwing flour on celebs and designers this fall/winter. In case you missed last week’s NY fashion shows one very resounding texture was fur. Almost every runway show had some type of fur in it’s collection. Whether it was a fur trim to a complete fur coat, fur accents were everywhere. There were varying degrees of furriness. You could have it as a trim on your coat, dress, or shoes. Or you could go for the full effect and get a great coat or vest. Anyway you want to do it.
Let me go on the record as saying I’m not a fan of fur. I don’t think I even own anything that has fur. I did have one coat back in the day and it had some really realistic fake fur. Killing little animals for their skin doesn’t exactly sit well with me. I would recommend opting for some synthetic fur pieces. They’re not as budget breaking and you’ll help a little animal out.
Overall fur is definitely something worth checking out next fall.
